Bozeman - A new guest exhibit at Montana State University's Museum of the Rockies will allow visitors to leap into a world of color, camouflage and captivating calls with "Frogs - A Chorus of Colors," which is on view now through Sept. 7.
The family-friendly exhibit brings visitors eye-to-eye with an extraordinary diversity of frogs and toads from around the globe, from delicate treefrogs to hefty bullfrogs and brilliantly colored poison dart frogs. Guests will encounter more than a dozen live species representing a range of habitats, adaptations and survival strategies.
Featured species include African Bullfrogs, Amazon Milk Frogs, Australian White's Treefrogs, Borneo Eared Frogs, Fire-bellied Toads, Giant Monkey Frogs, Poison Dart Frogs, Smokey Jungle Frogs, Smooth-Sided Toads, Vietnamese Mossy Frogs and more.
Visitors will discover how frogs survive in rainforests, wetlands and deserts; learn about metamorphosis through live tadpoles; and explore how coloration can signal danger, provide camouflage or attract mates.
"This exhibit offers a rare opportunity to see these remarkable amphibians up close while learning about their critical role in ecosystems worldwide," said the museum's director of exhibitions, Scott Williams. "With interactive elements and engaging interpretation, it is designed to delight guests of all ages while fostering a deeper understanding of amphibian biodiversity and environmental stewardship."
"Frogs - A Chorus of Colors" is included with museum admission. For hours, ticket information, and details about special programs related to the exhibition, visit museumoftherockies.org.
