Senator Justice Honors West Virginia Heroes and Purple Heart Recipients Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe at President Trump’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Jim Justice released a statement following President Trump's moving tribute to West Virginia National Guardsmen, Andrew Wolfe and the late Sarah Beckstrom - both of whom received the Purple Heart for their service:

"Having Sarah's parents in the chamber tonight was deeply moving. Sarah represents the best of West Virginia, and her family's courage and grace remind us of the sacrifices our service members and their families make every single day. Andrew is an absolute fighter and has epitomized true resilience in the face of insurmountable odds. His mother, Melody and her faith in both her son and the Good Lord above exemplifies the unbreakable spirit and deep faith that define West Virginia at its core. Both these Guardsmen are well suited to receive the Purple Heart for their bravery. We stand with Andrew and honor Sarah's memory; we keep our military families in our prayers, and we will always support the brave men and women who protect our country," said Senator Jim Justice.
