Civmec welcomes WA Premier

WA Premier Roger Cook today held a press conference at Civmec's Henderson headquarters, ahead of the upcoming state election on March 8.

He was joined by Minister Paul Papalia and Member for Cockburn David Scaife.

The Premier discussed AUKUS, as well as the future naval shipbuilding programs and their collective long-term benefits for Henderson businesses and the local economy, announcing additional incentives for WA defence industry partners who engage apprentices.

Whilst at the facility, the Premier was introduced to a group of Civmec apprentices, before touring the world-class assembly and fabrication halls with Civmec Executive Chairman Jim Fitzgerald and General Manager for Defence Mark Clay.

The tour showcased some of Civmec's current projects, including the production of the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels in collaboration with Luerssen Australia, demonstrating Civmec's comprehensive manufacturing capabilities and firm commitment to supporting the Commonwealth's naval shipbuilding objectives.
