Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Zhao Xiyuan Visits County Tipperary

On June 23, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan and his wife visited County Tipperary, met with John Carroll, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council and Sinead Carr, Chief Executive of Tipperary County Council.

Cllr. Carroll and Ms. Carr introduced the development overview of Tipperary County, noting that the county is located in central Ireland, boasts well-developed infrastructure, and has a strong manufacturing sector. The local economy has long benefited from Chinese enterprises and investors, and in recent years has maintained friendly exchanges with several local Chinese governments. They look forward to the continued impetus from the Strategic Partnership of Mutual Benefit between China and Ireland for local innovation and diversified development.

Ambassador Zhao said that this year marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. An open China and its vast market will bring numerous opportunities to countries around the world, including Ireland. County Tipperary has a solid foundation in agriculture, pharmaceutical industry and clean energy, and both sides can work together to unleash the potential for cooperation.

Ambassador Zhao and his wife also visited local enterprises and industrial parks, learning about the local supply chain's cooperation with China. They encouraged these enterprises to actively expand their cooperation areas with China and deepen mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
