Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that Deputies responded to the above listed location in regard to a welfare check/PPO violation complaint. The caller advised the suspect arrived at the home and was afraid he was going to assault the protected party from a valid personal protection order. The caller advised all occupants of the residence besides the suspect and victim were safe and had left the home and were awaiting law enforcements arrival.

When Deputies arrived, they made contact with the caller, being the homeowner who let them into the residence. Once inside the residence the suspect was found to be barricaded in a back bedroom with the protected party member, being a 33-year-old female. Deputies attempted to get the suspect to exit the bedroom by giving lawful commands. The suspect refused to comply. At one point the suspect came out armed with a baseball bat making threats to kill the Deputies on scene. The suspect threw the bat at Deputies and retreated back into the bedroom with the victim.

After a short verbal exchange the suspect exited the bedroom armed with 2 knives. A taser was deployed but was ineffective. The suspect threw one of the knives at the Deputies. The suspect again retreated into the bedroom.

After a lengthy negotiation, the suspect finally exited the bedroom and was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were sustained to either party nor the victim. The suspect was lodged on several felony charges.
