Budrys met with representatives of business service centres Global Business Services and Invest Lithuania

On 17 September, the Minister-designate of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, met with representatives of Global Business Services and Invest Lithuania, business service centres operating in Lithuania.

The Minister presented the main foreign policy directions and priorities of Lithuania, with security being the foremost priority.

"Looking back at history, Lithuania today has stronger and more reliable allies than ever before, with whom we work together to ensure the resilience of our state and the Alliance as a whole to geopolitical and geo-economic challenges. A strong and resilient Lithuania, where it is safe to live, create, do business, and invest, is in our common interest," said Budrys.

With representatives of Global Business Services, the minister discussed the development of the sector, the investment environment in the country, and opportunities to further strengthen Lithuania's position as an attractive location for high-value-added services. The contribution of the sector to the creation of jobs, the development of highly qualified specialists, the introduction of innovations, and the development of the ecosystem were also discussed.

The Minister and representatives of Invest Lithuania exchanged views on the challenges of attracting talent, the role of the state in creating an attractive environment for investors, and joint efforts to attract large investments, especially for the development of data centres in Lithuania.

Over the past decade, Lithuania has become a leader of regional business service centres in Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, there are more than 100 business service centres in the country, employing more than 27 thousand specialists. Their activities include finance, IT services, data analytics, customer service, cybersecurity, and engineering solutions. In recent years, high-value-added activities such as artificial intelligence, process automation, and data science have been growing rapidly.
