Interstate Lane Closure Advisory for the
I-285/I-20 West Interchange
WHAT: Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will temporarily close interstate lanes at the following locations to install advanced construction warning signs and for preliminary construction activities for the I-285/I-20 West Interchange project. This project will reconstruct and widen several interstate system-to-system ramps at the I-285/I-20 West Interchange and add a combination of collector-distributor lanes, or connecting lanes, and auxiliary lanes along I-20 west and I-285 north of the interchange.

WHEN:
Monday, February 3, through Friday, February 7, nightly from 9 p.m. to 5a.m.

WHERE:

I-20 eastbound:
  • Rolling, single, left-lane closures from Lee Street, mile marker (MM) 42.5 to Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard (MM 54.4)
  • Alternating, double, right- and left-lane closures from Six Flags Parkway (MM 47.3) to Fulton Industrial Boulevard (MM 48.8)
I-20 westbound:
  • Rolling, single, left-lane closures from McDaniel Street (MM 56.2) to Thornton Road (MM 44.3)
  • Alternating, single, right-lane closure and double, left-lane closures from Martin Luther King Jr Drive (MM 49.6) to Fulton Industrial Boulevard (MM 48.6)
Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
