General Dynamics Appoints Thompson as President of Ordnance and Tactical Systems

RESTON, Va. - General Dynamics announced today that Josh Thompson, who currently serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, has been appointed as president of General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS).

Thompson joined General Dynamics in 2002, serving in a variety of positions both at OTS and at General Dynamics corporate headquarters, including vice president of Finance and chief financial officer for OTS. He was appointed as chief financial officer of Gulfstream in 2020.

"Josh is an extremely accomplished executive and is a proven and highly respected leader. He brings a breadth of experience managing customer-focused organizations with complex manufacturing and supply chains," said Phebe Novakovic, chairman and chief executive officer. "He possesses the skills and commitment necessary to ensure OTS meets our customers' need for state-of-the-art systems."

In addition, General Dynamics announced today that Firat Gezen, who currently serves as president of Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS), has informed the company that he will retire at the end of March 2025.

"Firat has served General Dynamics with distinction for 28 years, including tenures at Land Systems, European Land Systems and OTS. His industry expertise and strong leadership have been instrumental to the performance and growth we have achieved at OTS," said Phebe Novakovic, chairman and chief executive officer.

Gezen joined General Dynamics in 1997 and served in a variety of leadership roles within the Combat Systems group before becoming president of OTS in 2016. We wish him all the best in the future.

Thompson assumes the role effective February 1, 2025, and we very much look forward to his stewardship now and in the years to come.
