04/01/2026 - Traffic Box Wrap Applications OPEN

Call for Traffic Box Wrap Images

Applications open now through April 29!

Apply now to be considered for the 2026 Traffic Box Wrap public vote!
Artists of any age living within 30 miles of Olympia City Hall (601 4th Ave E, Olympia, WA 98501) are invited to submit one image of their artwork for consideration to Olympia's Traffic Box Wrap Project.

Selected artists receive:

  • A $500 honorarium
  • Recognition on the City website
  • Have their artwork displayed on a traffic box in the City of Olympia for 2-3 years, depending on the condition of the piece over time.

Olympia's Traffic Box Wrap project turns traffic boxes found on sidewalks & street corners into a collection of public art pieces. The wraps not only beautify our City but greatly reduce the amount of graffiti on the boxes and the maintenance hours required to clean them.

As part of the project, community members are invited to submit their work to be considered for a public vote. At the end of the voting period the top ten images with the most votes are printed as vinyl canvases and installed on traffic boxes around town.

The project began in 2015 and there are currently 81 traffic box wraps on display throughout the City.
