Slurry Seal Road Projects to Begin Tuesday, May 13, Throughout the City

Slurry Seal road revitalization projects will begin on Tuesday, May 13, on various City streets. These pavement improvements will last approximately one week, weather permitting.

Residents directly impacted by this work will be notified with a door hanger 24 to 48 hours in advance of the work. When notified, residents will be asked to remove all vehicles parked on the street. No parking areas will remain in effect until the work has been completed and no parking signs have been removed.

No parking and other traffic signs will be placed on selected streets, and residents may be required to find alternative, off-street parking.

Driveways may have limited access for three hours during the process. The work will be performed on both sides of the road, with the entire road being closed for a few hours. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

Work will be performed between 8 am and 4:30 pm. In the event of rain, work will be rescheduled for the next dry day. Work will not take place on Saturday or Sunday.

Slurry Seal is a mixture of polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, mineral filler, water, and aggregate. Slurry Seal protects and prolongs the life expectancy of the pavement's surface.

This work is part of the department's annual pavement preservation program. The City appreciates the public's patience while these roadway treatments are applied to extend the life of the pavement.
