GKN Announces Details for October 27 Community Meeting

Garden Grove residents and businesses affected by the May evacuation are invited to a community meeting hosted by GKN Aerospace (GKN) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, at Delta Hotels Anaheim Garden Grove, 12021 Harbor Blvd. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

"People deserve clear answers about compensation and GKN's plans to operate safely," said Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. "GKN must address the community's questions directly and explain how it will meet its obligations to those affected."

The meeting will include a presentation on GKN's court-approved claims program, which is scheduled to begin accepting submissions at 12 p.m. October 27. The program provides up to $100 million for qualifying expenses and losses related to the May evacuation.

GKN will also provide updates on its Garden Grove facility and safety enhancements. Following the presentation, attendees can ask questions and speak directly with GKN representatives. Questions may be submitted in advance through the question form at gkngg.com.

The slide presentation will be available in English, Vietnamese, Spanish and Korean at the event and online afterward at www.gkngg.com.

The City of Garden Grove will continue sharing verified information about the claims program and safety requirements. For GKN updates and to sign up for notifications, visit www.gkngg.com. City information regarding the incident is available at www.ggcity.org/hazmat-incident.
