GPD: Donations Requested for “Beat the Heat Hydration Packs” for Greensboro Residents in Need

GREENSBORO, NC (June 23, 2026) - The Greensboro Police Department will resume its "Beat the Heat Hydration Packs" program and is requesting donations for our neighbors in need.

Donations may be dropped off in the lobby of police headquarters, 100 E. Police Plaza, during regular business hours. For anyone who would prefer to have their donations delivered to headquarters, the department has created an Amazon Wish List for consideration: https://a.co/0aKbITeR

As donations are received, packs will be assembled and shared with substations for officers to easily access and distribute to individuals they encounter who are in need of relief from the heat.

We would welcome the public's assistance with donations of any of the following:

· Bottled water

· Gatorade or other bottled electrolyte drinks

· Electrolyte packets (to package with bottled water)

· Granola bars

· Gallon-sized Ziploc (or store brand) bags

Please check on older neighbors or anyone who may be vulnerable to this heat and thank you in advance for your generosity and compassion!
