Milling and Resurfacing of the I-91 Southbound Rest Area in Wallingford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on the I91 southbound rest area Wallingford. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, September 24 and be completed on Tuesday September 30, 2025. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing the I91 southbound rest area Wallingford. This project is scheduled to begin milling and paving by Tilcon on Wednesday, September 24 to Tuesday September 30, 2025.

This project is included in CTDOT's 2025 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect various parking lot closures of the I-91 southbound rest area in Wallingford. The rest area itself will not be closed. Variable message sign boards will be posted at the rest area at least 72 hours before the start of the job. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday to Tuesday (no work on the weekend).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
