Effective October 6, 2025, the Unified Government Transit Department will implement changes to its Paratransit service policy.
RideKC Freedom is an ADA and Non-ADA Paratransit service that provides origin-to-destination transportation to persons with eligible disabilities and senior citizens aged 65 years and older to destinations within Wyandotte County. Prior application and approval are required.
"Our top priority is ensuring the safety of both our passengers and our operators," said UG Transit Department Director Deasiray Bush. "These updates help set clear expectations for what riders can bring onboard and define the responsibilities of our operators. By being mindful of personal items and understanding the limits of operator duties, we can continue to provide safe, reliable, and accessible paratransit service to our community."
These updates reinforce UG Transit's commitment to providing safe, reliable, and accessible service while setting clear expectations for both passengers and operators.
