Community Spotlight: Cedar Hill Rotary Club – A Decade of Service and Impact

For 20 years, the Cedar Hill Rotary Club has been a driving force for good in our community-giving their time, talents, and heart to make a lasting difference. This past May, the club hosted its 17th annual Head for the Hills Bike Rally, one of Cedar Hill's signature events. More than just a fun ride, the rally is a powerful fundraiser that fuels charitable and educational efforts across the city and beyond.

Since the first rally, the event has raised over $370,000 through the Cedar Hill Rotary Foundation, directly benefiting local programs and initiatives. One of their standout efforts is the "Coats for Kids" program, now in its 15th year, which has provided nearly 6,000 new coats-totaling almost $100,000-to elementary students in need across CHISD.

But their impact doesn't stop there. The Rotary Club continues to support local organizations like the Traphene Hickman Library, Cedar Hill Shares Food Pantry, and many others. A portion of proceeds also helps fund global humanitarian efforts through Rotary International, including support for African orphans and the international campaign to end Polio.

This kind of impact is only possible through strong partnerships with the City of Cedar Hill and our generous, service-minded community.

Want to get involved? The Cedar Hill Rotary Club is always looking for new members who are passionate about giving back. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 12:00 PM at the Traphene Hickman Library (450 Pioneer Trail, Cedar Hill, TX 75104).
