ATLANTA - State Representatives Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and Sandra Scott (D-Rex) urge Georgia homeowners to voice their concerns regarding Homeowner Associations (HOAs), Property Owner Associations (POAs) and Condominium Associations at an upcoming Senate Urban Affairs Committee meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. in room 307 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta. These representatives also highlight the Senate Rules Subcommittee on Homeowners Associations meeting that took place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, which heard legislation regarding POAs, and they encourage Georgians to attend any future meetings. "Too many Georgians have been stripped of their rights by unregulated HOAs," said Rep. Davis. "This week's hearings are about transparency, accountability and protecting the American Dream of homeownership. We need homeowners to show up, share their stories and help us fight back."
"There is not a week that goes by that I don't hear from families harmed by HOA abuse," said Rep. Schofield. "We need comprehensive reform, and we need homeowners to be engaged. Together, we can make change happen."
"No one should lose their home over abusive fees or unfair practices," added Rep. Scott. "We are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with homeowners to demand fairness. These hearings are the people's chance to be heard."

Representative Viola Davis represents the citizens of District 87, which includes a portion of DeKalb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Health, Insurance, Natural Resources & Environment and Urban Affairs committees.
Representative Kim Schofield represents the citizens of District 63, which includes a portion of Fulton County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves as Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Health, Industry and Labor and Small Business Development committees.
Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes a portion of Clayton County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Banks & Banking, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Insurance and Reapportionment and Redistricting committees.
