The Buffalo State chapter of Women in Technology (WIT) invites you to help create a one-of-a-kind cookbook that blends culinary creativity with the spirit of technology.
Andrew Garrity
Inspired by Buffalo State alumnus Darian Bryan, '17, winner of season 5 of Next Level Chef, this project celebrates the connections between innovation, problem-solving, and the recipes that bring people together.
Unlike a traditional cookbook, each submitted recipe will be paired with a technology-inspired element created by the WIT Committee, such as: flowcharts, coding concepts, technology-themed graphics, and illustrations. This is a cookbook where creativity, culture, and community collaborate on every page.
Don't cook? That's okay! You don't need to be a chef or even a cook to participate. WIT is looking for recipes, memories, and ethnic or cultural dishes that share stories from across the SUNY community.
Delphine Brodowski
Participants are invited to submit:
A favorite family recipe
An ethnic or cultural dish that reflects your heritage or traditions
A recipe that inspired you
A dish connected to a special memory
A recipe from a cookbook, friend, or website (simply tell where it came from)
Contributions from all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome.
Grace Villanueva
The cookbook cover is being created by Buffalo State student Delphine Brodowski and alumna Grace Villanueva, '26. Under the guidance of Buffalo State professor and published illustrator Andrew Garrity, they are developing a design that reflects the cookbook's unique blend of food, technology, and community.
The cookbook will be compiled into a published collection with proceeds that support future Buffalo State Women in Technology programs and events.
The deadline to submit recipes is August 31, 2026, so don't wait!
To submit, please use the recipe submission form.
Let's get cooking!
