As Iowa Ag Week comes to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on the vital role agriculture plays in keeping our state strong. With over 86,000 farms in Iowa, our farm families work year-round to provide corn for the world. Last year, Iowa produced more than 2.7 billion bushels of corn, accounting for over 30% of Iowa's agriculture revenue, according to Decision Innovation Solutions (DIS). This is why Iowa Corn remains focused on research, market development and education, ensuring we continue to find new uses and expanded markets for the corn grown right here in Iowa soil.

"We like to say you may think Iowa just grows corn, but the truth is corn grows Iowa," said Iowa Corn Promotion Board President Joe Roberts, who farms in Belmond, Iowa. "As a farmer, I see firsthand how this crop impacts every Iowan. We lead the nation in corn used for livestock feed, fiber and ethanol. By feeding our corn to livestock, we're creating high-quality meat and dairy products, and by processing it into ethanol, we're providing a cleaner-burning, more affordable choice at the pump. From the fuel in your tank to the thousands of everyday products corn is found in, its impact is everywhere."

Highlighting the national importance of these efforts, Iowa Corn Growers Association President Mark Mueller participated in a White House meeting earlier today as part of the Ag Week celebrations. During the meeting, Mueller represented Iowa corn farmers in discussions regarding federal agricultural policy, advocating issues like year-round E15, fertilizer industry consolidation, trade and more.
