Spanish Government action in relation to the outermost regions and the multiannual financial framework

The outermost regions (ORs), recognised and protected by Article 349 TFEU, require specific and differentiated consideration in the negotiations on the next multiannual financial framework (MFF).

In view of the strategic and budgetary importance of this issue:

• 1.Can the Commission set out what formal steps the Spanish Government has taken to protect the specific interests of ORs in the current process of preparing the MFF?
• 2.Has the Commission received any letter, formal communication or official document from the Spanish Government concerning the protection of the status and specific funding of the ORs in the next MFF?
• 3.If so, on what date was it recorded and what, in essence, was its content?
