Foreign Minister Eide and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas to take part in Arctic Frontiers conference

Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will be participating in the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø on Tuesday 3 February.

The annual Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø is the most important international meeting place for discussions on Arctic issues, bringing together experts; researchers; local, national and international politicians; members of the business sector; and representatives of indigenous peoples.

Greenland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Motzfeldt and Canadian Governor General Mary Simon will also be taking part in the conference.

Monday 2 February

20:00 Mr Eide is host for a dinner with Kaja Kallas, Mary Simon and Vivian Motzfeldt. Photo opportunity on arrival (press pool).

Tuesday 3 February

08:45-09:15 Tour and meeting with Kaja Kallas on board a Coast Guard vessel. Photo opportunity (press pool).

11:00-12:30 Mr Eide and Ms Kallas participate in the opening 'Big Picture' event (Arctic State of Affairs) with Canada's Governor General Mary Simon and Greenland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Motzfeldt.

12:30-13:00 Press conference with Mr Eide and Ms Kallas

13:15-13:45 Bilateral meeting with Ms Motzfeldt (time TBC)

15:00-16:30 Reception to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Arctic Council

State Secretary Eivind Vad Petersson will be participating in the conference on Tuesday 3 February and Wednesday 4 February.
