On January 15, 2025 at approximately 7:12 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a call regarding a carjacking in the 100 block of Watson Street.
Central District General Patrol officers discovered that a 25-year-old male victim, working as a food delivery driver, had exited his 2019 Volkswagen Jetta to deliver food, leaving a 21-year-old male passenger in the vehicle. Three suspects approached the vehicle and forcibly dragged the passenger out and drove off. He was not injured, and no weapons were used during the robbery.
At approximately 7:33 p.m., General Patrol officers observed the victim's vehicle travelling east on Mountain Avenue near Salter street, being operated by a 30-year-old male suspect. The suspect stopped in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue and was taken into custody.
Investigators are working to establish a description of the outstanding individuals involved in the robbery.
Thomas COOK (30 yrs) of Winnipeg has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
