Information session on Vanderbilt’s innovation neighborhood set for Oct. 6

Knowing that research and development space close to a research university is a key ingredient in cities where innovation thrives, Vanderbilt has begun working with local government officials, neighbors and community stakeholders to prepare to reimagine 40 acres on the western edge of campus as a mixed-use neighborhood dedicated to collaborative innovation. The vision is to transform currently underutilized space into an incubator of innovation, along with green space, retail, housing and more, all grounded in Nashville's distinctive culture.

Throughout the 2024-25 academic year, faculty and staff participated in one-on-one and small group conversations with Vanderbilt leaders and staff to work on the initial plans. Vanderbilt staff members have met with community leaders and neighbors to share the initial steps being taken.

Faculty and staff are invited to an information session to learn more about Vanderbilt's plans:

When: Monday, Oct. 6, 12-1 p.m.

Where: Kissam C210 MPR

Lunch will be provided, and registration is required to ensure adequate catering.

During the session, attendees will hear from Executive Director of Real Estate Margaret Emley, Senior Director of Local Government Relations Eben Cathey, and leadership within the Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization.
