Heart disease is theleading cause of death in Wisconsin. An estimated 15.7% of Wisconsin's population is at greater risk of heart attack, stroke, and death due to uncontrolled high blood pressure.
On Saturday, Ascension Wisconsin sponsored theAmerican Heart Association Heart and Stroke Walk (AHA). The event promoted heart-healthy activities and raised awareness about cardiovascular disease. The funds collected for this event support life-saving medical research.
Educating our community about heart disease, how to prevent or manage it, and how to recognize the signs of a heart attack, is more important than ever. Dr. Beth Griffin interviewed with Spectrum News 1 ahead of the AHA Heart and Stroke Walk.
