Netflix's 10th anniversary celebration in Japan is underway in Shibuya, and as part of the festivities, we're excited to unveil major news for anime fans: the new BAKI-DOU series will stream exclusively on the platform in 2026, while BEASTARS FINAL SEASON Part 2 debuts first-look images teasing a dramatic climax, also set to premiere next year.
The announcements were made during a special talk show featuring a dream collaboration between Keisuke Itagaki, creator of the BAKI manga series, and Paru Itagaki, creator of BEASTARS . This event, part of our ongoing anniversary celebration running from today through September 14, gave fans a unique chance to experience the worlds of some of Netflix's most popular Japanese shows.
BAKI-DOU : The Legendary Miyamoto Musashi Arrives
Following his legendary father-son battle against Yujiro Hanma, Baki faces a new threat: the resurrection of Japan's greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. As warriors like Doppo Orochi, Jack Hanma, and Kaoru Hanayama return to the fight, the stage is set for an unprecedented clash-the strongest underground fighter vs. the legendary samurai, in a cross-era showdown.
A teaser trailer and key art have been released, offering fans a first glimpse at the next evolution of the global hit franchise that has already surpassed 100 million manga copies in circulation and continues to build a passionate audience worldwide.
BEASTARS Final Season Part2: First Look at the Shocking Climax
In the newly revealed stills, Legoshi (voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi) is shown with a calm yet determined expression, joined by key characters central to the finale:
Haru, Legoshi's first love
Louis, the senior who, despite everything, continues to watch over Legoshi
Juno, the drama club junior who once had feelings for Legoshi and now admires Louis
Pina, a popular drama club member who often teases Legoshi with playful banter
Melon, the ruthless underworld criminal threatening Legoshi and his friends
All are depicted with grave expressions, heightening anticipation for a shocking climax as the story builds toward its conclusion.
Director Shinichi Matsumi, who has led the series since Season 1, shares his thoughts on the finale: "As fangs and horns clash, friendship, love, and pride - everything will be put to the test in this intense climax. What does it mean to live beyond the boundaries of species? Is love a source of strength, or of weakness? The finale of this work is not only their story, but also a question posed to the world we live in. Please watch until the very end."
The beloved coming-of-age anime set in a world of animals reaches its powerful conclusion soon.
