Congresswoman Tenney Supports Secure America Act to Strengthen Border Security and Support Law Enforcement

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24), today supported the Secure America Act, legislation that provides critical funding for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), border security technology, and immigration enforcement operations to help secure America's borders and protect communities across the nation.

The Secure America Act provides $69.55 billion for CBP, ICE, HSI, and other related programs in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the Fiscal Year (FY) 2029. This funding includes over $31 billion in funding for ICE operations through FY29, including funding for enforcement personnel, detention and removal operations, transportation, technology modernization, and coordination with state and local law enforcement. The legislation also provides over $9 billion for Border Patrol agents and CBP operations, including the hiring, training, and equipping of additional personnel, advanced screening technology, anti-fentanyl enforcement efforts, and border surveillance capabilities through FY29. Additionally, the bill includes over $7 billion in supplemental funding for HSI to continue its work on child trafficking interdiction through FY29. The legislation ensures Border Patrol and ICE have stable funding through the remainder of President Trump's term and strengthens efforts to combat illegal immigration, fentanyl trafficking, and transnational criminal activity.

"Supporting the men and women of Border Patrol and ICE should be common sense," said Congresswoman Tenney. "The Secure America Act gives our frontline law enforcement officers the resources they need to keep our borders secure, stop the flow of fentanyl into our communities, and enforce our nation's immigration laws. President Trump has made incredible progress restoring order at the border, and Congress must ensure that progress continues. The alternative is a return to the failed policies that allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter our country, fueled deadly fentanyl trafficking, and put American communities at risk. Americans deserve a safe, secure border and a government that puts their security first."
