Attorney General’s Office Expanding Free Scam Prevention Training

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella announces updates to the schedule and locations for the Department of Justice's "Protect Your Wallet, Protect Yourself" Scam Prevention Initiative presentations in Coos County. Due to popular demand, additional seating and improved accessibility have been arranged for the Lancaster and Berlin sessions. The updated details are as follows:

Updated Session Schedule

November 12, 2025
• 10:30 a.m. - McIntyre School Apartments, 16 Highland Street, Whitefield, NH
• 1:30 p.m. - Country Village Center, 91 Village Road, Lancaster, NH (new location)
• 4:00 p.m. - Groveton Housing, 6 Spring Street, Groveton, NH

November 17, 2025
• 10:30 a.m. - Notre Dame Apartments, 411 School Street, Berlin, NH
• 2:00 p.m. - The Family Resource Center, 166 Main Street, Berlin, NH (new time and location)

All sessions are free and approximately 90 minutes long. Older adults, caregivers, family members, and community partners are encouraged to attend.

Session Highlights

• Impostor Scams: Recognize suspicious calls and avoid common fraud tactics.
• Payment Methods Used by Scammers: Identify red flags involving gift cards, wire transfers, and cryptocurrency.
• Identity Fraud: Learn how to safeguard your personal and financial information.
• Reporting and Recovery: Steps for contacting authorities, banks, and support services.

This initiative continues the Department's statewide effort to help older adults recognize, avoid, and report scams before they suffer financial loss.

The Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation Unit investigates and prosecutes crimes of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, while also leading public education and outreach to protect vulnerable adults.
