Weekend Traffic Advisory for SR 316 at Jimmy Daniell Road

WHAT: Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) will implement weekend lane closures in both directions on State Route (SR) 316 between Virgil Langford Road and Jimmy Daniell Road for work in the median area. Motorists should be prepared for workers and equipment to be present throughout the weekend.

Drivers should expect delays during the listed time frames. All closures will be removed by Monday, February 9, at 5 a.m.
For alternate routes, visit GA511.

This project is part of a series of roadway improvement projects along SR 316 from SR 20 in Gwinnett County to SR 10 in Athens, Oconee County. SR 316 at Jimmy Daniell Road is packaged as a bundle with SR 8/SR 316/US 29 at County Road (CR) 440/CR 662/Virgil Langford Road (P.I. No. 0013768) and SR 8/SR 316/US 29 at CR 929/Oconee Connector (P.I. No. 0013769) for procurement, final design, and construction.

WHEN/WHERE:

Weekend Closures:
Saturday, February 7, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Lane closures along SR 316 eastbound and westbound between Virgil Langford Road and Jimmy Daniell Road.

Advisory: Motorists are urged to reduce speed, stay alert, and exercise caution while traveling through work zones. With workers and heavy construction equipment present at all times, awareness is critical. Increased fines will be enforced in these areas to ensure compliance and safety. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be placed at each end of the project to notify the public of the upcoming work.
