AECOM appoints Ivan Chindurza as Head of Renewables for Europe

Mr Chindurza brings 19 years of experience in renewable energy to AECOM and its clients across the region.

LONDON (January 29, 2025) - AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, today announced its appointment of Ivan Chindurza as Head of Renewables for Europe. Based in Scotland, Mr Chindurza will be responsible for growing AECOM's renewable energy business across the region, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key clients in this market.

Joining AECOM from Mott MacDonald, where he served as Operations Director for its Energy Generation Division, Mr Chindurza brings his 19 years of experience in renewable energy, having led the restructuring of the company's energy transition business while directing large teams of engineers and environmental and sustainability specialists and leading multimillion-pound portfolios for major renewable energy infrastructure clients. Mr Chindurza began his career in renewable energy in 2007, when he joined SgurrEnergy (now Wood Group) as a Renewable Energy Consultant, having worked previously as a market trader.

"The renewable energy sector today faces a number of challenges, from grid constraints and connection delays to supply chain volatility, workforce and skills gaps, and growing storage and flexibility demands," said Eloise John, Director of Energy for Europe, AECOM. "Against this backdrop, Ivan brings a wealth of experience to the role, and his proven leadership will be instrumental in guiding the business and further strengthening how we support our energy clients in the UK and beyond in shaping solutions to these issues across renewable generation and storage in the region."

"I am delighted to be joining AECOM at this critical time in the renewable energy sector, as EVs, heat pumps and industrial electrification, alongside the rapid growth of data centres and AI, continue to increase electricity demand faster than any other time in recent history," said Mr Chindurza, speaking on his new role. "Substantially greater renewable energy capacity will be urgently required in the years ahead and I look forward to further developing AECOM's already substantial depth and breadth of expertise in this space, supporting our clients through what will be a decisive decade as global energy transition targets fast approach."

AECOM is one of the leading infrastructure and programme delivery partners for renewable energy across Europe, with a portfolio encompassing a wide variety of projects, from pumped storage hydro like the Amfilochia facility in Greece, to wind and solar power in the UK, including Lancaster University Solar Farm and Pennon Power's Solar Portfolio.
