StoryFutures and Final Pixel launch Skills Futures training programme in AI

The StoryFutures/Final Pixel partnershipis delighted to ann ounce the launch of its Skills Futures micro skills training programme, offering The AI-ready Producer, funded through ScreenSkills.

This purpose built intensive hands-on programme for freelance Film Producers will run from 12 to 31 March and aims to tackle the industry's critical training void in AI head-on.

The programme will centre on real-world experience of AI use in film production, offering practical and creative AI skills right across the creation and delivery cycle of a project, in multiple formats across a range of platforms.

Amanda Murphy, Co-Director of StoryFutures said: "This course leverages StoryFutures and Final Pixels' proven track record in training and in Producing across traditional, Virtual Production and in the use of new technologies.

"Together we offer this unique hands-on project-based AI course, enabling participants to apply the learning tangibly to a project as they go.

"It plugs an urgent shortfall in formal AI training provision, essential to future-proof the creative industries and build a more agile, inclusive, and world-leading workforce."

Michael McKenna, CEO of Final Pixel added: "Skilling up and adopting next generation technology is crucial to the future of our industry and being at the forefront of this places our entertainment studio at the leading edge.

"It is this sharing of real-world applied new technology that makes our training different, benefiting from top tier trainers that are working on real world projects using these techniques today."

For the in-person elements of the course, participants will get to experience what the future may hold with demos and inspirational work in our purpose-built cutting-edge virtual studio at Royal Holloway.

Here they will benefit from the research and innovation work of CoSTAR National Lab, and get hands-on, applying what they learn in a team project giving them a tangible output to their learning.

Emma Turner, Head of Film, Animation and Future Skills, ScreenSkills, said: "We all recognise the fast-evolving impact AI and future technologies are having on shaping screen content for those working in roles across production spaces.

"As part of the Film Skills Fund's work, we wanted to create an agile funding process to train film producers that help them understand the available platforms and work alongside these tools to add to their own creativity and pass findings onto their teams."
