TSA records three highest checkpoint volume days at Cherry Capital Airport in the past month

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recorded the three highest checkpoint volume days at Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) in the past month, with the highest volume day ever recorded on Sunday, July 6.

"I am proud of our officers at TVC for their hard work and dedication in delivering a safe and efficient screening experience as travelers make their way to their flights," said TSA's Federal Security Director for Michigan, Reggie Stephens. "We remain focused on the security mission during the busy peak summer travel season."

TSA's top ten checkpoint volume days for TVC have all occurred in the past year.

With a busy travel period expected throughout the summer, TSA is advising air travelers to arrive at the airport early with plenty of time to park or return a rental car, check bags, and complete security screening before making their way to their gate.

At the checkpoint, ensure your REAL ID or other acceptable form of ID, such as a passport, and boarding pass are out and ready for the TSA travel document checker. Place items from pockets securely into carry-on bags while in the security line, and listen to the instructions of officers, as screening protocols vary from airport to airport, depending on available technology.
