On November 6, 2024, State Police of Schodack arrested Nicholas T. Layman, 29, of Nassau, NY, for Burglary in the third degree, Criminal Mischief in the third degree, and Petit Larceny.

On November 6, 2024, at about 4:27 a.m., Troopers responded to reports of a past burglary at a business on Maple Hill Road in Schodack, NY. The investigation determined that Layman allegedly forcibly entered the business, damaged the door, and stole items from within.

Troopers found Layman sleeping in the wooded area across the street from the business, in possession of the stolen items, and took him into custody. He was transported to SP Schodack for processing and then arraigned at the Schodack Town Court, which released him on his own recognizance.
