HP Indigo Expands U.S. Footprint with $100 Million Strategic Agreement with Shutterfly

NEW YORK, March 24, 2026 - Today, at HP Imagine 2026, HP Indigo, a global leader in digital printing solutions, announced a major strategic agreement with Shutterfly, a leading U.S.-based e-commerce company specializing in personalized products and custom design. The multi-year agreement represents a significant expansion of the long-standing relationship and includes the deployment of 35 HP Indigo 120K digital presses, with the first phase set for 2026, underscoring HP Indigo's leadership in industrial-scale, nonstop digital production.

The announcement comes as HP and Shutterfly mark 25 years of collaboration, dating back to 2001, when Shutterfly installed its first HP Indigo press. Over the past two and a half decades, the collaboration has evolved alongside the industry, shifting from early digital adoption to highly automated, data-driven, industrial production. Today's agreement reflects both the strength of that legacy and a shared commitment to shaping what comes next.

Technology Leadership at Industrial Scale

As part of the agreement, Shutterfly will upgrade its entire fleet of HP Indigo B2 digital presses to HP Indigo 120K digital presses, HP Indigo's most advanced platform for high-volume commercial print. Designed specifically for industrialscale, nonstop digital production, the HP Indigo 120K delivers gains in productivity, reliability, automation, and print quality at scale.

Built on a proven B2 platform, the HP Indigo 120K integrates advanced on press automation, predictive diagnostics, and intelligent quality management to maximize uptime and consistency in 24/7 production environments. The result is faster throughput, more stable operations, and the confidence to scale personalized production without compromise.

"This agreement reflects the depth of our long-standing relationship with Shutterfly," said Oran Sokol,Head of Global Sales, HP Industrial Print. "Shutterfly has consistently understood what it takes to lead in personalized, high-volume production and HP Indigo technology provided the foundation to make that possible. This latest milestone is one of the most significant long-term, fleet-wide investments in digital production, and it reflects how we continue to build and advance the industry together."

"This decision is about positioning Shutterfly for the next phase of growth," said Dwayne Black, Shutterfly Chief Operations Officer. "For 25 years, HP Indigo has been a trusted collaborator as we scaled personalization and innovation across our operations. Upgrading our entire fleet will drive meaningful efficiencies and quality in our peak season, and more broadly reflects our confidence in the technology, the collaboration, and the long-term opportunities ahead as digital production continues to evolve."

Driving the Industry's Transformation

The agreement is a clear signal of the industry's continued shift toward industrial scale, nonstop digital production, where automation, data, and intelligence are as critical as print quality itself, reinforcing HP Indigo's vision of Nonstop Digital Printing, which goes beyond hardware, enabling customers to transform their operations into connected, highly automated production environments built for growth.

"Shutterfly's expansion is an endorsement of what we've built together over the years, it is not just an investment in new presses, it is an investment in a new operating model," said Noam Zilbershtain, VP & General Manager, HP Indigo. "With the HP Indigo 120K, we are helping customers move beyond proven technology toward intelligent, always on production. This agreement reinforces HP Indigo's number one position in industrial digital print and demonstrates how we continue to lead the transformation of the industry."

Software, Services, and AI: Beyond the Press

In addition to press systems the agreement includes consumables, services, and software, allowing for Shutterfly to further leverage HP's broader industrial ecosystem, including HP PrintOS, workflow automation, and data driven production tools designed to optimize end-to-end performance.

HP's expanding software and services portfolio enables customers to connect presses, workflows, and people into a single intelligent secure production environment, transforming real-time data into actionable insights, improving decision-making, and supporting more predictable, profitable operations at scale.

A Shared Roadmap for the Future

Looking ahead, the collaboration reflects a shared roadmap focused on AI-driven production, deeper workflow automation, and an end-to-end digital manufacturing ecosystem. HP continues to invest in intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and cloud-based workflows that will further reduce complexity, increase agility, and enable customers to scale with confidence as demand for personalization continues to grow.
