More than 41,000 medical school seniors, graduates matched to residency slots

The National Resident Matching Program announced March 20 that it matched 41,482 medical school seniors and graduates to U.S. residency positions, filling 93.5% of the training positions offered. There were 53,373 total applicants in contention for the 44,344 positions available this year, with both figures marking new records.
