Greenberg Traurig’s David J. Dykeman Speaks at BPIP Conference, Israel’s Premier IP Forum

BOSTON - May 26, 2026 - David J. Dykeman, co-chair of the Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was a featured speaker at the 12th annual Best Practices in Intellectual Property (BPIP) Conference, May 17-18 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Greenberg Traurig was a platinum sponsor of the conference.

Recognized as Israel's leading annual forum for in-house intellectual property (IP) leaders and global practitioners, the BPIP Conference focused on future-proofing IP strategies amid evolving geopolitical and technological landscapes. The event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and legal professionals to discuss emerging trends and best practices in IP across technology and life sciences sectors.

Dykeman participated in multiple sessions throughout the conference:

  • He interviewed leaders from the Israel Patent Office and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, discussing patent office updates and global IP developments.
  • He served as a panelist for the session, "AI Issues in Strategic Agreements," which examined the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on collaboration agreements, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • He led a master class titled, "When the Examiner Uses AI: Beating Machine-Enhanced Examination at Its Own Game," with Mark Ruberto, D., a patent agent in Greenberg Traurig's Tel Aviv office. The session explored how AI tools are transforming patent office examinations and how applicants and attorneys can strategically respond to AI-enhanced examination processes.

"BPIP is one of the premier international forums for discussing the evolving intersection of IP, AI, and innovation strategy," Dykeman said. "It was an honor to participate alongside leading global IP professionals and contribute to important conversations around how companies can adapt their IP strategies in an increasingly AI-driven environment."

Dykeman is co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's Boston office. As a registered patent attorney, he focuses on securing worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategies for high-tech clients, with particular experience in life sciences, medical devices, robotics, materials, and information technology.
