The 5th Session of Thai-Swedish Political Consultations

On 7 May 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mr. Daniel Wolvén, Head of the Department for Asia, the Pacific Region and Latin America of Sweden, co-chaired the 5th Thai-Swedish Political Consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden.

Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to elevate Thailand-Sweden relations, as well as to further strengthen sectoral cooperation in key areas such as defence technology, innovation, startups, sustainable forestry, and green energy. The discussions also explored opportunities to expand trade and investment, including the timely conclusion of the Thailand-EU FTA negotiations.

On this occasion, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Dag Hartelius, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, to discuss ways to strengthen Thailand-Sweden partnership.
