Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that two 17-year-old juveniles are being detained after an alleged shooting incident in Eastpointe on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
A Preliminary Hearing was held in the Macomb County Juvenile Court on Wednesday, July 22, 2025. Referee Kristin Stone granted the assistant Macomb County prosecutor's request for a Special Adjournment to allow for a thorough review of the facts and circumstances to decide if the interests of justice and protection of the public require the juveniles to be tried as adults. Referee Stone denied the juveniles bond and ordered them to remain in the Juvenile Justice Center pending the next Preliminary Hearing date set for July 30, 2025.
"Today, my office is carefully reviewing all the facts concerning a shooting which involved juveniles. At this stage, no decision has been made about whether to charge them as adults. My office remains committed to holding individuals accountable while also addressing the root causes of youth violence," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
