UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host SBA Certifications Webinar July 14

Small businesses, entrepreneurs and startups will have an opportunity to learn more about Small Business Administration (SBA) certifications Tuesday, July 14.

The Wyoming APEX Accelerator will sponsor "Understanding SBA Certifications: Eligibility, Benefits and Next Steps," a webinar scheduled noon-1 p.m. To register, go here.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state's expert in government contracting assistance.

SBA certifications can help eligible small businesses gain access to set-aside contracts, sole-source awards and valuable networking opportunities in the federal marketplace.

The webinar will provide an overview of the SBA's key certification programs, including 8(a); women-owned small businesses; HUBZones (historically underutilized business zones); and veteran-owned certifications, including veteran-owned small businesses and service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses.

The webinar also will cover who qualifies; the benefits of each program; common misconceptions; and the steps to apply.

For more information, call Tyler Schanck, marketing, communications and database manager for the Wyoming SBDC Network, at (307) 343-0925 or email [email protected].

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is supported by state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA.
