New Editorial Assistant for Opinion

We're delighted to welcome Jordyn Flaherty to Opinion as an editorial assistant supporting Ezra Klein across his column, podcast and other editorial endeavors.

Jordyn is moving to New York from Boston, where she worked as a senior project analyst at a law firm. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2025 with a B.A. in law, letters and society, concentrating in technology regulation. Her undergraduate thesis, "Forging the University of Chicago Police Department: 1978-1993," chronicled the establishment and expansion of the university's private police force and was selected for publication by the Chicago Studies anthology.

She has also worked for Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester when she was a House representative, Senator Chris Coons and the University of Chicago's Office of Federal Relations.

In her free time, Jordyn writes plays, which have been performed in Chicago, Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del. She also enjoys running, reading and playing jazz violin.

Please give her a warm welcome!
