September 19, 2025 - The City of St. Petersburg is seeking residents to serve on multiple boards and committees. See below for vacancies.
The Community Planning and Preservation Commission (CPPC) serves as both the Local Planning Agency (LPA) and the Land Development Regulation Commission (LDRC) under the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act. As the LPA, the CPPC reviews and provides recommendations on proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Future Land Use Map, Zoning Map, and other required elements. As the LDRC, it evaluates land development regulations related to historic and archaeological preservation, including proposed historic designations, certificates of appropriateness, and actions under the Historic and Archaeological Preservation Overlay Section. The Development Review Commission (DRC) evaluates and acts on the development proposals within the city in order to ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, zoning ordinance, and other appropriate City regulations. The DRC acts as the Land Development Regulation Commission to review and evaluate proposed modifications. More information at https://www.stpete.org/DRC
The Nuisance Abatement Board hears and decides cases involving properties in the city allegedly being used for illegal activity. This Board plays an important role in reducing crime and improving the safety and welfare of St. Pete citizens and visitors by encouraging property owners to take responsibility to prevent their properties from becoming the site of ongoing nuisance activities.
