County Road 22 Lane Closure and Crossing Opening

FARGO, N.D. - Red River Valley Alliance announces the completion of the County Road 22 crossing over the stormwater diversion channel, a portion of the larger, FM Area Diversion project. To open this bridge to traffic, a single lane closure is needed to tie in the existing CR 22 to the new crossing and remove the bypass lanes. The closure is set for February 25, 2026, and is expected to last the whole day. Upon completion of this tie-in, the County Road 22 crossing will open to traffic, which is expected toward the end of the day.

Located southwest of Harwood, North Dakota, construction on the CR 22 bridge began in March 2024. The bridge is 410 feet long and utilizes 18 girders to support the bridge deck. It is the 15th of 19 crossings over the channel to open.

Work to remove the existing bypass will begin in the coming days. Motorists are asked to stay alert in this area as construction work continues.

Work on the bridge and roadway was completed by ASN Constructors and R.J. Zavoral & Sons, Inc.
