Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.), all members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, demanded that two companies implicated in apparent pay-to-play accusations against former Department of Homeland Security chief advisor and special government employee, Corey Lewandowski, preserve records of their interactions ahead of likely multiple probes into violations of federal law.
The lawmakers' demand comes after new public reporting connected direct financial payments to Mr. Lewandowski related to his support or assistance with the companies' federal contracting prospects.
"As you likely know, multiple Committees of jurisdiction and Members of Congress are investigating whether federal spending by the Department of Homeland Security was subject to improper influence, corruption, or other violations of federal law, under Congress's investigative and oversight authorities. New reporting states that GEO Group, and you personally, engaged in communications with Mr. Lewandowski about financial payments related to his support or assistance with GEO Group's federal contracting business. Notably, GEO Group does not appear to have denied these allegations in public reporting," the Senators wrote.
The lawmakers' letters to GEO Group and Salus Worldwide Solutions also seek to preserve records related to the companies' interactions with White House border czar Thomas Homan, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, special government employees, and others appointed by the President or his advisors.

We write to request that The GEO Group, Inc. ("GEO Group") preserve all records and communications related to Corey Lewandowski from January 1, 2024 to date and on an ongoing basis moving forward.
This preservation hold applies to your personal records, corporate records, and all communications with Mr. Lewandowski, any person representing or purporting to be acting on behalf of Mr. Lewandowski, or any consulting firms associated with Mr. Lewandowski. This includes, but is not limited to: records and communications via email, whether official or personal; mobile devices; encrypted or disappearing messaging applications; social media; calendar entries; meeting notes; and voicemail and text messages. To the extent that you or GEO Group use any auto-delete functions, you should immediately suspend auto-delete functions and notify persons with control over potentially relevant records of their preservation obligations. You should also preserve all records of your or GEO Group's communications with the White House or White House personnel, including White House Border Czar Thomas Homan and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, special government employees, and others appointed by the President or his advisors.

We look forward to your acknowledgement of compliance with this preservation request by April 3, 2026.
