San Francisco - Caltrans will be closing the northbound and southbound sections of Interstate 280 between the Alemany Blvd. overcrossing and Jerrold Ave. undercrossing in San Francisco. The length of this closure is approximately one- and one-half miles. Weekends not impacted.
Closure dates are:
Southbound I-280
Northbound I-280
The closure is necessary to allow work crews to place polyester concrete overlay, replace joints, seals, and repair asphalt concrete on the freeway. This work is part of an extensive project to repair two ramps and four connectors at several locations on I-280 from Monterey Blvd. to Cesar Chavez off-ramp. The remaining work duration is two months. All repairs are taking place at night and may require partial to full lane ramp/connector closures.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable messages and directional detours will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. During the closures. Please drive with caution. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
Recommended Detours:
Motorists traveling southbound or northbound I-280 should follow posted detour instructions.
