BLM Idaho timber sale brings in over $36,000

SALMON, Idaho-The Bureau of Land Management sold 135,000 board feet of timber to Diamond X Post & Pole LLC of Leadore during the July 22 McDevitt Post and Pole timber sale. The sale generated $36,016 in revenue. This project will produce timber suitable for fencing and support jobs in central Idaho.

"America has significant timber resources," said Acting BLM Idaho Falls District Manager Martha Price. "And we are focused on using forests for timber and jobs that improve life for all Americans."

The BLM manages 58 million acres of some of the most productive forests in the world. BLM Idaho manages approximately 770,000 acres of forest lands and approximately 300,000 acres of woodlands.

We are committed to supplying a reliable, secure, and resilient domestic supply of timber. In 2024, timber sales generated nearly $21 million for Idaho rural economies. BLM's forestry program supports economic security, reduces risk of wildfire, conserves fish and wildlife habitat, and decreases costs of energy production.
