WASHINGTON- Today, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement after helping pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act through the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill will help build more homes and lower costs. It now advances to President Trump's desk to be signed into law.
"It used to be that if you worked hard and played by the rules, you could afford to buy a home. That isn't the case for far too many Michigan families today," said Congresswoman McDonald Rivet. "The bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is a step toward changing that, and it's now heading to President Trump's desk. By cutting unnecessary red tape, this bill will make it easier to build homes across the country-homes working families can afford and build their lives in."
Congresswoman McDonald Rivet is a founding member of the bipartisan Build America Caucus, which is focused on cutting red tape and surging resources to lower costs, including the cost of housing.
