MUNISING, Mich.- The Miners Falls Trail at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore reopened today, June 26, after a temporary closure on June 23-25 for necessary boring work. The trail will remain open through June 28 before closing again on June 29 through July 2, as crews continue soil boring near the viewing platforms.
During the closure, contractors will conduct soil boring near the upper and lower viewing platforms to inform design plans for a new stair structure, anticipated to be installed in 2027.
This temporary closure will not affect access to Miners Castle or Miners Beach.
