Last week, our Economic Development and Tourism Team launched the 2026 Business Needs Survey ...and we're now inviting local businesses from across the region to take part.

It's a great chance for businesses of all sizes to share their experiences and help us better understand what's happening on the ground, as well as where the opportunities lie for the future.

Our local businesses are at the heart of our communities, and your feedback really matters. It helps us understand the challenges you're facing, what's working well, and where Council can step in to better support you. The insights gathered will help shape future economic development initiatives, guide our advocacy to State and Federal Government, and make sure our programs and services are aligned with what local businesses actually need.

The survey only takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and every response helps build a clearer picture of our region's economy. That information allows us to take practical, targeted steps to support growth, attract investment and keep our communities strong.

As a thank you, businesses that take part will go into the draw to win a Media & Digital Growth Package valued at over $1,000, including professional videography and photography, plus a digital audit covering online presence, Google optimisation, social media, AI tools and website performance.

I'd encourage all local businesses to jump on, have their say and be part of shaping what comes next for our region.

You can access the survey via our Your Say platform- it's open until 31 May.

And speaking of local business… it was great to see the region buzzing over the Easter period, with both locals and visitors out and about enjoying everything our towns have to offer. From busy cafes and shops to local community events and attractions, that extra activity makes a real difference for our local businesses. It's a great reminder of how important it is to support local, not just during peak times but all year round, helping keep our communities vibrant and thriving.
