Simmons was a member and leader of the French Club and the Leadership, Experience, Opportunity (LEO) Club. She was also a National Honor Society member for two years. She was awarded the 2025 choir scholarship, the president's education award and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' (FCA) Outstanding Christian Leader Award. "It's a great honor to be recognized for my faith because, as a Christian, it's my goal in life to grow as close to God and as Christ-like as I can, so to be recognized for that means a lot," said Simmons. "It's also very nice to already have connections with people who are investing in helping me grow at Waynesburg."
