On 15 June 2026, Mr. Pisanu Sobhon, Ambassador Attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a briefing on global affairs and geopolitical and geo-economic competition to a delegation from the Thai private sector, state-owned enterprises, and independent organizations led by H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, former Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassador highlighted the complexities of the current global landscape, which is increasingly characterized by instability, volatility, and a transition toward a multipolar world. To navigate these challenges, Thailand's strategic foreign policy is anchored in four key pillars: (1) Diplomacy of Strategy for clear and proactive engagement; (2) Diplomacy of Speed for rapid and agile responses to shifting global dynamics; (3) Diplomacy of Coherence for unified and integrated action through Team Thailand; and, (4) Diplomacy of Communication for continuous, open and transparent dialogue.

He also briefed the group on Thailand's balanced approach to managing strategic relations with major powers, the role of ASEAN, proactive economic diplomacy, and situational assessments of major global conflicts. Both sides exchanged views on ensuring coherence in the conduct of foreign policy and advancing people-centred diplomacy, with a view to ensuring that information remains timely, aligned with evolving circumstances, and effectively communicated to the public amid today's increasingly complex global landscape.
