Community invited to free Día de los Muertos Fiesta Oct. 24 at the Norman P. Murray Center

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee invites the community to a special Día de los Muertos Fiesta (Day of the Dead) at the Norman P. Murray Center on Saturday, October 24 from 2 to 7 pm.

The festivities will provide the chance to explore the educational and cultural significance of Day of the Dead traditions. Enjoy live Mariachi music, Folklorico Dance, live butterfly experience, free crafts and face painting, artisan market, and folk-art workshops. You can also bring a photo of a loved one or pet that passed to add to our special Ofrenda (memorial altar).

There are also Ofrenda and Catrina contests along with a costume parade. Registration for the Catrina contest is required, and costumes must be Day of the Dead themed (no Halloween costumes). If you are interested in participating in the costume parade, call 949-830-7066 or email [email protected].

Admission to the fiesta is free. Authentic food, beverages, beer, and sangria will be available for purchase.

For more information, visit mvactivities.com or email [email protected].

The Norman P. Murray Center is located at 24932 Veterans Way.
