Ready to Roll: Pompano Beach Celebrates New Skatepark Grand Opening

The City of Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - featuring a live skate demonstration- for its new skatepark on Wednesday, July 22^nd, at 10:00 a.m. at 1701 NE 8th Street.

The community is invited to celebrate this exciting milestone with a full day of festivities, including the official ribbon cutting, appearances by professional skateboarders, live skate demonstrations, prizes and giveaways, food trucks, music, and family-friendly entertainment.

The grand opening celebration will feature an impressive lineup of professional skaters, including Brandon "Bam" Margera, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, Pedro Delfino, Fabiana Delfino, Elijah Odom, Marcos Montoya, Nikolai Piombo, Blake Carpenter, Christian Henry, Jake Sanso, Ish Cepeda, and BLP Kosher.

One of the skatepark's signature features is a custom Pompano fish sculpture designed specifically for skaters to launch up the ramp and grind along the fish, combining the City's coastal identity with a unique, one-of-a-kind skating experience that can't be found anywhere else.

Grand Opening Schedule

10:00 a.m. - Ribbon Cutting

11:00 a.m. - Free Learn to Skate Session for beginners

12:00 p.m. - Professional Skaters Demo

12:45 p.m. - Skate Jam with mini contests and prizes

2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - Public Open Skate

Designed and constructed by New Line Skateparks, one of the nation's premier skatepark design and construction firms, the new facility was created with input from the local skating community and offers a dynamic mix of street and transition features that accommodate skateboarders, bike and scooter riders, and inline skaters of all skill levels.

The skatepark represents the City's continued investment in expanding high-quality recreational amenities while creating an exciting destination for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come.
